What is Softphone?

What is Softphone?

A softphone is the software that allows you to make or receive calls from your computer or tablet. Softphone software is offered as part of your Cloud Business Phone system. It has the same user-friendly interface that operates similarly to a regular phone – users can receive calls dial numbers from any location in the world. As long as you have the internet connection. Mute, hold, and transfer functions are also available on softphones. Imagine holidaying in Hawaii and be able to talk to your client here in Perth. And after sharing a few stories with the client, to be able to transfer the call to one of your colleagues, who just came back from holidaying at Fiji. 😊

Cost-effective:

Because upgrading your system is as simple as updating your software, softphones help you save money on hardware, phone service, and maintenance. Additionally, softphones allow you to make international calls at  a fraction of the cost compare to the traditional method.

Employee's presence:

The significant advantage of the softphone app is your team’s availability. One of the most important aspects of good call management is real-time presence. You will be able to view the availability of business associates in your network using a desktop or mobile softphone. They may also check if they are available and how to contact them.

Easy access to call records

One significant advantage of softphones is that they make it easier to access call records. The call records can be automatically added to your CRM (Customer Relationship Management software). Using the Softphone interface you can invite your collegue to the call, split or merge the call, or add notes from your converation that will go directly into your CRM

Value for money

3CX Offers a number of cost saving benefits.

3CX may not be the cheapest platform out there, but it is one of the best options for small businesses that want to optimise their callflow and maintain control over call charges. With no need to invest in hardware and the added flexibility to use different providers for incoming and outgoing calls, you can start saving right from the start. 3CX also offers a wide range of features that can help you improve your business communications, including call forwarding, voicemail, conference calling, and more. So if you’re looking for a robust and scalable platform to help you grow your business, 3CX is definitely worth considering.

Things to consider

The way we communicate has changed drastically over the years, and it shows no signs of slowing down. I remember when I was first introduced to Skype and Microsoft Messenger- two platforms that allowed me to communicate with others using just a computer. Then, with the development of mobile phone hardware, software, and modifications to our mobile network infrastructure, we were soon able to use mobile data to communicate.

Today, there seems to be an app for everything, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with the latest trends. However, one trend that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere is the use of softphones. A softphone is a software application that allows users to make and receive phone calls over the internet. While they have been around for many years, they have only recently become popular among businesses due to their cost-effectiveness and flexibility. If you’re thinking about incorporating a softphone into your business, there are a few things you need to consider.

First, you need to determine what features are most important to you and your team. Do you need video conferencing capabilities? Are you looking for a platform that integrates with your existing business tools? Once you know what you need, it will be easier to find a softphone that meets your needs.

Additionally, you’ll want to make sure that the softphone you choose is compatible with your current business telephone system. Otherwise, you’ll likely experience dropped calls and other technical issues. When evaluating different softphones, it’s important to read online reviews from other users. This will give you a good idea of which ones are reliable and which ones aren’t.

Finally, don’t forget to compare price before making your final decision. Softphones can range in price from free to several hundred dollars per year, so it’s important to find one that fits within your budget. By taking the time to evaluate your needs and compare different softphones, you’ll be able to find the perfect solution for your business.
